The photo shows a supersonic jet that has broken the sound barrier. It looks as if the jet is from another world. Since the 1940s when a pilot called Chuck Yeager took his Bell X-1 to 767 mph, breaking Mach 1, the idea of breaking the sound barrier is not new. This feat was astonishment at the time as it had never been achieved before.
There are some high-speed cameras available, such as the Sony RX-100 which can capture up to 1,000 frames per seconds.
