This owl butterfly has a large, round eye on its wing. It makes this boy look like he is half human and half butterfly. The large round eyespots on their hindwings gave them their name. These friendly insects can be found in Mexico, South, Central and North America, as well as at conservation centers. The owl is the largest butterfly in the Americas with a wingspan of twenty centimeters. This makes it easy to spot in butterfly houses.
