Piercing looks
Mark became incredibly nervous. Mark felt as though the crowd was weighing him down, like a spotlight. Murmurs were heard throughout the crowd as people whispered with their seatmates. Mark had the uneasy feeling that people were looking at him in disapproval.
Mark was seized by panic. His palms began to sweat and he felt uneasy. He wanted to escape the people who were watching him.
He couldn’t stand it
Mark suddenly made a dash out of the room and disappeared in just a few seconds. He left, almost colliding with Lucy as she was about make her entrance down.
Lucy’s face was a mixture of surprise and concern when she discovered Mark’s sudden disappearance. She asked, “What’s up, Mark?” with genuine curiosity, but also a touch of concern.
Mark was glad he finally found them.
