Rosalynd was deeply moved by Jason’s letter. She was encouraged by the thought that a simple smile can go a very long way. Waitresses interact with a wide range of people. There will be good and bad moments but rarely something as life-changing. Rosalynd was only just getting started. Rosalynd had more to come. She had more surprises in store! A Huge Tip!
The lunch for three diners cost $72.60. Rosalynd was surprised to learn that the diners had left a $450 gratuity! A waitress is thrilled by any tip above 20%, but 625 percent? It was incredible! In most states and countries, waitresses do not earn high salaries. They must work very hard for low wages and often survive on tips alone.
