Running up the stairs
She parked her car on the street and ran home. She screamed as she ran up the stairs when the elevator wasn’t working. She was completely out of breath and standing in front her front door minutes later.
Complete silence
She found them quickly and unlocked the front door. She listened as she opened the door… but she heard nothing. The apartment was silent. It felt strange… Emma called Lily and waited to see if she would respond.
It remained silent.
