Emma is relieved
Emma blushed, and then nodded. She was obviously unaware of the note but pretended to be unfrightened for an hour. She felt guilty that she had ever thought that Sarah might have hurt Lily.
It was clear from their interactions that they were really close that day.
Lily likes Sarah
“Sarah brought me this ice-cream, and now she’s my best friend!” Mommy, can she come tomorrow? “Please?” Lily asked her mother. Sarah was also smiling as brightly at Emma as she looked.
Emma replied, “Of Course she Can, Honey! “Whenever she wants.”
