Karen Sharpe says that Jerry was inappropriate to her when they worked together on a movie
Jerry did not shy away from playing with women behind his wife’s ear. However, not all of the women he sat down to talk to fell for his charm. Karen Sharpe claims that Lewis made the move on her in the 1960s. The incident occurred while they were filming ‘The Orderly Disorderly’, with Jerry allegedly cornering Karen during a fitting for her costume.
Sharpe claims that he unzipped his pants and left her dumbfounded. Sharpe says that he unzipped the pants, leaving her stunned. She reportedly gathered herself quickly enough to say no and that he was furious.
Lewis ignored Karen following the incident and only interacted with her while filming
Jerry is the star of “The Disorderly Orderly,” so rejecting him could be costly. Sharpe was lucky that the actor did not have her removed. He did, however, change his attitude towards her following the incident. Jerry was reportedly more distant and standoffish towards her after the incident. He refused to spend time with her except when cameras were rolling.
This included practicing lines, which may have taken longer to film than anticipated. Lewis was not the only person who treated Karen in a different way. She claims that many of the crew also gave her the cold shoulders, after being told to not speak to her. Jerry seemed to be making it clear that rejecting Jerry would have serious consequences.
