Jerry Lewis was reportedly devastated by the death of his son
Joseph’s brothers were looking for someone to blame when he died. Gary Lewis felt that the blame fell on their father. Jerry was described as “a mean and evil person,” who could have saved Joseph’s sibling had they been “on better terms.” Gary said that the comedian doesn’t care that his brother died partly from “a broken-hearted.”
Jerry didn’t say that in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter from 2014. He told the magazine that he felt devastated and that it was unfair that Joseph would behave the way that he did. Lewis was said to have beaten himself up over the loss, and his wife had to comfort him by telling him it wasn’t his doing.
He may also have had an illegitimate child who was excluded from the will
Jerry had a lot of children. Jerry had six sons, including Gary, Anthony, and Joseph who died. He had a second-married daughter, whom the couple adopted. Lewis had already adopted his son Ronnie.
It seems that his relationship with the family has soured as he allegedly “disowned them all.” This makes a total of seven children… or does it? There may be a ninth child, who Jerry excluded from his will. Suzan Minoret is the woman who claims to be Lewis’ child but was never acknowledged by him as such.
