A Fascinating Family
The Gosselins’ situation was so unusual that they were featured on a few Discovery Health Specials. Their family’s popularity grew and they were given the opportunity to host their own TLC show. Jon & Kate plus 8, was the name of the show that debuted in 2007. The show was originally called em>Jon & Kate Plus 8/em>, but two years later Jon and Kate divorced, and it became Kate plus 8.
Bitter Divorce
Kate and Jon had a turbulent marriage, and although initially Jon claimed it was Kate that wanted to separate, Kate said “Jon’s actions” caused her to feel she “had no choice but to file legal proceedings in order to protect herself and the children.” Some rumours suggested that Jon was dating the daughter of Kate Glassman’s plastic surgeon. However, Jon said that the relationship began after their marriage ended.
