Larry was not aware of some arrangements
Larry took care of all the financial aspects of the wedding so Barbara didn’t have to consult him. For the moment, she was able make arrangements and decisions without needing his approval. She was able to plan without worrying about Larry’s opinions or input.

Barbara’s plan to visit his parents
Barbara, while planning her wedding, couldn’t stop thinking about Larry’s parents, who wouldn’t be attending. This made Barbara even more curious and she decided to invite his parents to the ceremony even though Larry hadn’t wanted to introduce them to her.
She wanted to ensure that their families attended the wedding as it was a very important event. How was she going pull it off, was the big question.
