Davis wasn’t in his normal patrol car that day. He was driving a vehicle that was able to blend in with regular traffic but also capable of handling unexpected challenges.
The car had more power than a cruiser, but was not one. Its acceleration on straightaways is probably better than that of a police car. Davis counted on this advantage when the white Honda began to gain ground.
