Mr. Smith goes to Washington, District of Columbia
The 1939 political comedy Mr. Smith Goes To Washington was filmed at a number of locations, including the U.S. Capitol, and the Lincoln Memorial. The Washington Post claims that the scenes in the Senate were recreated and the film was rear-projected on a fake set.

The movie received eleven Oscar nominations but only won one. It was added to the United States National Film Registry in 1989 because of its aesthetics, cultural and historical importance.
Nebraska – Nebraska
The black-and-white road movie was a collaboration between Bob Nelson, the screenwriter, and Alexander Payne. Nebraska, a 2013 film, stars Will Forte and Bruce Dern, as well as Bob Odenkirk and June Squibb. The movie was nominated for a Palme D’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
Bruce Dern was awarded the Best Actor award. Nebraska was nominated for six Academy Awards, in addition to other nominations. It was unquestionably a commercial hit. The majority of the filming took place at Osmond, Hooper and Stanton. Plainview was the fictional town Hawthorne that appeared in the film. The film was supposed to feature 21 Nebraskans, but 227 were actually employed.
