Paper Moon – Kansas
Ryan and Tatum, a father and daughter team, were the main characters in the 1973 road-comedy Paper Moon. This film is notable for its unconventional casting. Peter Bogdanovich was the director of the film. Ryan played Moze while Addie was his assistant.
Tatum was only ten at the time and became the youngest winner of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Filming was done in several small towns in Kansas including Hays Wilson and McCracken. The Midland Hotel, located in Kansas, was one of the most important filming locations. Peter shot scenes on the Missouri River’s banks. In 1930, Hays held a vintage car show to celebrate the 30th anniversary Paper Moon. The movie was very popular in this small town.
Goldfinger – Kentucky
Goldfinger is probably the best Bond movie ever made. Goldfinger’s storyline became so popular that it was used in many Bond films. James Bond’s most famous quote is “A martini”. This film was the first to use Shaken, not Stirred. This is the Bond film that has the most positive reviews. Sean Connery, the legendary actor who played James Bond in films.
Filmed in parts of England and Switzerland. Kentucky was also a popular location. Gert Frobe is a German actor, who plays Goldfinger. He intends to inject deadly gases into the US Bullion Depository located at Fort Knox.
As the production team wasn’t allowed to film inside Fort Knox itself, they recreated the interior in the studio by using video taken from the outside. There were also a few shoots done in Kentucky at the last minute.
