Godfather – Manhattan
The crime of 1972 is unparalleled. Godfather, directed by Francis Ford Coppola received international praise. The film is hailed by critics and fans as one of the greatest and most influential movies ever.
The Library of Congress conserved this film by adding it to United States National Film Registry. Al Pacino, Marlon Brando and other actors gave memorable performances. James Caan received praise for his performance. Robert Duvall and Richard Castellano also received high praise.
Coppola shot the majority of scenes on Long Island and in New York City. Falaise, Mitchell Field an Air Force Base near Uniondale and Sands Point Mansion were the locations chosen. Michael Corleone’s house in Staten Island was his home. It sold for $1.37 per square foot in 2019. Carlo Rizzi died there.
Sling Blade – Arkansas
Thornton plays the role of Karl Childers in this Billy Bob Thornton directed drama. Robert Duvall is joined by John Ritter Lucas Black Natalie Canerday Dwight Yoakam and J.T. Walsh plays the other characters. The 1996 film was based on Thornton’s short film Some Folks Called It a Sling Blade.
Sling Blade was awarded the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Thornton, on the other hand was nominated for Best Actor In A Leading Role. Thornton completed the film in 24 days. Benton, Arkansas was the main location of the filming. Arkansas was the ideal location for Jeff Nichols.
