Charlie Chaplin’s legend continues to be alive through his films. His work is loved by movie lovers around the globe. Modern Times is a silent film directed and written by Chaplin that comments on the desperation of the Great Depression.
The Modern Times cast includes Henry Bergman as the Little Tramp, Paulette Goddard as Paulette Goddard and Chester Conklin as Tiny Sandford. Chaplin stars as Little Tramp. The Library of Congress in the United States has preserved it on the United States National Film Registry. It is more famous because Chaplin’s portrayal of Tramp was his final appearance and it was the first time that fans heard him speak.
Chaplin shot in Los Angeles, Santa Clarita and Long Beach. He constructed the interiors of Charlie Chaplin Studios.
Up in the Air (Missouri)
Jason Reitman was the director of the comedy drama from 2009. Up in the Air was written by Sheldon Turner & Reitman and inspired by the novel Up in the Air by Walter Kim. George Clooney is in the film. Vera Farmiga is in the supporting cast, along with Danny McBride and Anna Kendrick.
The film was a critical and commercial success. Up in the Air was one of the top movies in 2009. It received six nominations each at the Academy Awards, and Globe Awards.
Reitman filmed the film in St. Louis Missouri. Lambert International Airport is a popular location. Reitman said that there were plenty of offices available in St. Louis for filming. The entire team benefited. While scouting locations, he noticed the abandoned buildings immediately.
