Hoosiers – Indiana
The Hoosiers director used Indiana to film the sports movie. Elizaville was one of the main locations. The 1986 film is responsible for Indiana’s basketball fame.
It was inspired by the match between little Milan and the famous Muncie in the 1954 Indiana state championship. They used nearly every important location in Indiana including churches, downtowns and old gymnasiums. According to WRTV Indianapolis several Indiana residents queued in the gym of Brownsburg High School to become extras in the film.
The Hoosier Gym was also known as The Knightstown Gym. Hoosiers are shown on a large screen in the gym before every basketball season. This boosts the atmosphere.
Good Will Hunting New England
Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Robin Williams all played significant roles in the film Good Will Hunting. Robin Williams played an important role alongside them. The film was shot in Toronto, Canada and other locations such as Boston, Cambridge, and Cambridge. The film preserved MIT, however, as its primary location.
The University of Toronto was well-armed. For those who want to know more, the storied L Street Tavern still exists.
Tim Grafft told the BBC that Good Will Hunting captured Boston the best it could. The beer was so delicious that people traveled from Japan and other far-off places to taste it in Boston neighborhoods.
