The Ice Storm – Connecticut
Before the movie was released, a novel with the same name from 1994 had been published. This story is set in New Canaan Connecticut and features two dysfunctional upper-class families.
The movie was a hit with everyone, and it’s no surprise that filming went so smoothly. The film was well received by critics and the audience, but it’s unfortunate that New Canaan residents were not happy. The portrayal of New Canaan was offensive to them.
Job Taylor, senior partner of a New York law firm, acknowledged to The New York Times that the production of the film was not without its challenges in 1996. They couldn’t park in Elm Street for shipping, breakfast or lunch. It might have been different had it been in the USA.
