Penn Hills Resort
In the 1960s, Frances Paolillo transformed the 1944-founded Penn Hills Resort into a ski resort, golf course, and honeymoon destination with an ice skating rink, swimming pools, and street lights from the 1964 World’s Fair. The resort was closed and in disrepair after Paolillo’s death in 2009.

Star Jet Roller Coaster
The Star Jet roller coaster opened in 2002 in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The roller coaster was popular with tourists and locals at Casino Pier. It was there until Hurricane Sandy flooded the pier into the sea, and the rollercoaster went along with it. In 2013, it was demolished and replaced with a new coaster named Hydrus. The new coaster was built in a more suitable location to avoid the same fate as the Star Jet.
