When heated, thin glass can become dangerous.
The reason most glass bowls and dishes are thick is because they can be used in a microwave. You could be in danger if the heat from your microwave puts too much pressure on glass. Once heated, thin glass can explode and shatter in a microwave. This could ruin your microwave.

You could even end up injuring yourself if you remove the glass container from the microwave as the temperature begins to cool. You should only use glass containers made specifically for microwaves. There are plenty of microwave-safe dishes, bowls and jugs.
Once heated, anything with a crack can shatter.
You should not put cracked items in the microwave. The heat of the microwave could put pressure on a crack and cause it to shatter. This can happen even with the smallest of cracks.

Even if the item was previously microwave safe, a chip or crack will render it unusable. If you don’t want to throw away your old crockery, it is best to buy a new one.
Adult beverages are more flammable that other liquids
It is dangerous to microwave adult beverages because they have a lower boiling point than regular water. The drink will heat much faster than water and come to a boil in no time. You could end up in hot water, or even something hotter.

The longer you keep adult beverages in the microwave the greater the fire risk. The higher the alcohol content, the greater the fire risk. You can heat it in a saucepan on the stovetop if you need to. You can then keep an eye on the pot and ensure that it is brought to a slow boil.
