Mark could not ignore the warnings from the previous owner. This perplexing experience only heightened Mark’s curiosity. He kept hearing the warning in his head and wondered, “What did I find?”
It is clear that the former owner was motivated to conceal the truth. Why was this urgent? Mark also pondered the deeper question as to why he, the owner of this land, should have to listen to a person who did not claim it.
