A nightmare
Mark realized that his situation was not right. Mark initially kept his discovery secret out of fear, and in the hopes that he would be able to handle the situation on his own. His resolve was shattered by the vividness and clarity of his dream. The vividness and weight of the dream coupled with the implications of the unknown object made him reevaluate.
The cryptic, shadowy fragments of the haunting dream gave hints as to the object’s identity and purpose. The implications of the dream were disturbing and obvious.
