I’ll tell Dr. Johnson that you’ve arrived. He’ll be there soon. “Please, take a seat and wait.”

Veronica said “Thanks” and sat in the waiting area. Bella was standing next to her, looking tense as she refused to sit down. Veronica tried to calm Bella down by petting her and speaking softly to her. But nothing worked.
