Lily was used to such treatment and focused her attention on Thom who seemed to be genuinely happy to see her. He returned the hug and kissed Lily on the cheek, before looking into her eyes and giving her a comforting smile. This was exactly what Lily needed at that moment.
Pre-Dinner Snacks
After a tense first greeting, they all entered the room and sat down at the table. Margaret immediately offered everyone a beverage and a selection of snacks. Lily was confident that the snacks were safe because they consisted of just a small dish of nuts and a plate of pre-packaged cheddar.
